Then you can stop bees having directed access to your skin by protecting your whole body with this 100% cotton professional beekeeper suit.
This beekeeping suit is our foundation, purposely made to meet the needs of experienced and commercial beekeepers.
Looking after multiple hives can be a physically demanding job, with a lot of lifting heavy hive boxes, sometimes full of honey and bees. Moving from hive to next over long distances and occasionally difficult terrain.
Beekeepers can easily work 12 hour days, inspecting hive after hive across multiple locations. With the main beekeeping season from spring to the fall, a lot of this outside work is done in hot weather. Long working days, knowing that you will be stung and likely multiple times.
Protective clothing needed for this type of work needs to be something special, standing far above your typical Amazon, Walmart offering.
This Max Protect beekeepers suit does just that, with the medium weight cotton fabric (240 gsm), this suit is strong and durable, capable of standing up against harsh wear and hot temperatures.
Cotton fibers are natural hollow fibers, they are soft, cool, known as breathable fibers and absorbent ...
** Can withstand heat, so won’t catch fire or melt when in contact with your smoker **
** Can withstand detergents, and bleach, so is easily cleaned and machine washable **
** Cotton is a natural cellulosic fiber, so these suits are recyclable and biodegradable **
Being a 100% cotton suit, it is natural, tough and comfortable, this is my preferred suit, in fact, I always carry a Max Protect Jacket in the back of my car.
OK, enough about why we used cotton for this suit. As mention before, a lot of beekeeping involves heavy lifting and this puts a constant strain on the suit and its zips. To help overcome this the cut and shape of this suit is designed to be roomy allowing you room to bend and move as needed.
So to overcome this, we used genuine YKK gunmetal zippers, which are 10 times stronger than brass or plastic throughout the suit. From the full length of the body to securing the veil. Metal zippers are very durable withstanding heavy vertical and horizontal stretches, preventing them from failing (being the suit opening expectantly) when excessive load is applied.
This suit has long 18” zips on each leg, to assist with ease of putting the suit on and off. For most beekeepers, this zip should be long enough to run from your foot to your knee.
The ankles and wrists are elasticated to keep the bees out. With foot and thump loop to help you put on your gloves and boots.
A single zipper is used to secure the veil to the suit to ensure that there are no gaps for bees to enter. For me, there is nothing worse than find a bee inside your veil, that is why we have added extra Velcro seals were the zippers join.
Velcro seals along the zips at the top of the suits front zipper are designed to overlap so that even a very determined bee can’t crawl through the gap normally found in traditional beekeeping suit designs.
An addition Velcro flap is placed outside the front of the veil to help secure the closed zips with another Velcro seal inside the veil to make sure there are no bee size holes.
This suit comes with two non-flammable veils. One fencing and one round, so whatever your preference you will always have your preferred choice and a spare.
Both veils are non-flammable, so unlike traditional veils that are made of nylon or cotton, these won’t readily catch fire should an accidental flame from you a smoker or lighter contact it.
These veils mesh is very fine, with holes so small that even mosquitoes or tiny insects won't able to get through. Because the mesh is so fine and anti-glare, the vision through the veil in very soft and clear removing dazzling glare from the sun. The mesh design to be rigged and free-standing, ensuring the veils always stand upright and away from your face. This improved visual prominence makes it easier for you to inspect your hives and spot queen, eggs and mites.
Each suit is assembled by hand using traditional tailoring techniques, combined with thoughtful design and modern materials These suits are truly unique, comfortable and very protective.
Beekeeping is very rewarding as leisure and as a career. Even though at times it can be very demanding, it shouldn’t uncomfortable or unsafe. So, please stay safe and protected by wearing a Max Protect beekeeping suit, designed for everyday beekeepers.

So Be Incredible Be In ColorAnswer. Though these can be convenient, the excessive use of zippers can also be a weakness. With an additional opening on the veil, there is the greater likely hood that these could open when attending your bees or not being fully closed when putting the jacket on, giving an opening for bees to get in.
After all, the main purpose of a beekeeping jacket is to create a sealed and enclosed environment to prevent bees from having unimpeded access to your skin.
Answer. We recommend that you machine wash your suit at 86 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius). Try not to wring it too hard as this could cause the suit to lose some of its shape.
Please remove the veil from the suit and hand wash this separately so that you can take extra care of the veil's mesh and rim.
We do not recommend the suit is tumble dried because if there are still wax or propolis deposits on the fabric the higher temperatures of the dryer may cause the wax to melt - leading to marks on your next load of clothes through the machine.
It is best to dry the suit by hanging it on a strong plastic hanger and leaving it to air dry. This will help the jacket keep its shape and avoid any accidental damage.
Note: As this a cotton suit, if washed too hot or tumble dried, the suit could shrink about 3%.
The washing instructions can also be found in the collar label on your jacket for your convenience.
Answer. Yes, for bees and yellow jacket wasps when worn correctly. The prime purpose of this suit is to stop bee having direct access to your skin. When the zippers and Velcro are closed fully and securely, bees won’t be able to get inside and sting you.
The cotton fabric on this suit is only a few millimetres thick, a bees’ is stinger is 3mm long and thin enough to get through all fabrics, it is very sharp.
So, if the suit was pressed hard directly against your skin, a bee stinger could still reach you, though it is less than a polycotton suit.
With or without a suit, bees sting. So, your suit will be stung at times. To make sure you stay as sting-free as possible, make sure that the suit fits you baggy and you wear some light long sleeve and full leg underclothing underneath, with a pair of long sleeve gloves and knee-high boots.
We understand that choosing the right size is the hardest part of buying clothing. That is why we offer free returns or exchanges for a full 30 days after purchase.
