Rusty is a beekeeper, writer, and photographer in Olympia, Washington. Her website has an international following of bee lovers and has been cited in diverse publications such as Modern Farmer, Scientific American, and The New York Times.

In addition to her interest in honey bees, Rusty is a crusader for North America’s wild and native bees, speaking to garden clubs, environmental groups, and schools about bee habitat and conservation.
